Here I sit, on the eve of Thanksgiving, watching TV like any good, lazy, obese American. The Simpsons has just ended and on come the commercials. These were no ordinary commercials; these were the types of commercials that jump out of the TV and start to rape you in every orifice with their sales pithces. Flashing lights, Christmas music, happy being being happy. Hm...I seem to have forgotten that a holiday is nearing...thanks to your rampant, blatant "BUY BUY BUY!" campaign, I've been reminded that Christmas is approaching. It'd be one thing if they advertised two or three weeks before the holiday, but five weeks? Come on. Wait, do we have to inform the SUV-driving soccer moms to go buy gifts for their spoiled-ass, bourgeoise family? Do soccer moms not have anything else to worry about than purchasing things for their family? What gets me are these sales on the Friday right after Thanksgiving. Department stores open at 5:30 am. You know what's sickening? There are people lined up at the door to get in at five fucking thirty in the morning on a holiday. People are herded like cattle into the stores, running like pigs to slaughter. I'm not surprised the fat soccer moms don't trample each other every year. It has slipped people's minds that Christmas is a religious holiday. LOL BUT KOJI URE A RAMPANT ATHIEST/SOCIALIST WHY DO U WORRY ABOUT CHRISTMAS?????????!!!111LOLOLOL You know why? It angers me that companies blatantly take advantage of the people because of their feeling for charity. People feel the need to spend four credit cards worth on gifts for their family, instead of staying at home, treasuring the family for who they are and not what they give. Instead of attending mass and honouring Jesus' birth, they go to Wal-Mart to get a deal on a dancing, singing model of Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman. So, in my socialist haze, I've decided to create a holiday: Human Day. Give one gift to your closest comrades to show your appreciation for their friendship. Or don't give a gift: it's up to you. Just show your comrades how much they have given you over the past year. |
